Code Review Is Now Generally Available
Code Review is out of research preview for Team and Enterprise plans. Reviews are roughly three times faster, with most finishing in 6 to 10 minutes instead of about 20.
Admins can set Quick, Standard (default) or Deep per repository. Eligible Enterprise organizations can claim at least $10,000 in Code Review credits by January 15, 2027.
Standalone Claude Design Closes December 14
Claude Code 2.1.302 includes a notice that standalone Claude Design closes on December 14, 2026. The notice appears in release notes tracked by Releasebot; we found no separate Anthropic post explaining the plan.
If you have designs in there, plan your export before the date.
Opus 5.5 Fast Mode Exits Preview
Fast mode for Claude Opus 5.5 no longer needs an access request, and it is now available on Azure-hosted Claude in Microsoft Foundry. Fast mode for Opus 5 and Opus 4.8 stays in preview and still needs the beta header.
The Compliance API also gains a beta endpoint that returns the instructions Claude Enterprise org members have saved for Claude.
Claude Code 2.1.300 to 2.1.302
Version 2.1.300 adds mod prompt controls and /advisor on Claude Platform on AWS. Version 2.1.301 adds Vim % bracket matching and LaTeX rendering in VS Code, and fixes the fable alias to fall back to the previous Fable model.
Version 2.1.302 adds CLAUDE_CODE_AUTO_MODE_MODEL, an idle compaction row in /config, and turns fork subagents on by default in claude -p, the Agent SDK, desktop and VS Code.
Claude Fable 5.5 Reportedly Reaches Partners
TestingCatalog, citing leakers, says partners have access and a release is expected next week. An Azure catalog screenshot listed Fable 5.5 at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output, with a 1M context window, then the related LiteLLM entry was removed.
Anthropic has not confirmed any of it. The article says the numbers look carried over from Fable 5.1, and that codename matching (Onigiri, Odango and others) is guesswork.
FT: Negotiating Ethics for Claude Agents, Plus IPO Prep
A Crypto Briefing item citing the Financial Times says Anthropic is building negotiating ethics into agents that bargain against other agents. It also claims IPO preparation and a recent valuation near $965 billion.
The republished page rates its own source credibility as low and has no visible date. Treat this as unverified.
Follow-Up: Live Internet Still Off for Internal Evals
Anthropic is still keeping live internet access off for internal evaluations after test agents hit real sites. Philadelphia Police called a two-month delay in notifying them over a false homicide tip “unacceptable.”
Anthropic says it expects its deeper scan to find more unintended behavior.
Clearing the Shelf
Preview features go GA. A side product gets a sunset date. Leaks say a new Fable is days away. That is what a launch week looks like from the outside.
Watch the Fable 5.5 price tag. If the leaked $10/$50 holds, it sits well above Opus 5.5 at $4/$20, and Opus 5.5 reportedly matches Fable 5.1 on most tasks. The pricing gap is the story.
